LEVEL 3
IMI Level 3 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Systems Repair and Replacement.

Our unique IMI Level 3 course is designed to enhance your existing knowledge of electronic principles and teach you how to safely apply them to high-voltage repair and diagnostic procedures for electric and hybrid vehicles.
The course offers a 60/40 split between theory and practical training and is delivered over 5 days. You will gain core knowledge and skills, including disarming at least two vehicles and checking for low and high voltage. Under one-to-one supervision, delegates will be testing for voltage, removing high-voltage components, checking their functionality, and then refitting and retesting them.
You will also utilise the latest diagnostic equipment to ensure the repair status meets all necessary criteria set by both the vehicle and component manufacturers.
- Identify suitable sources of information before working on a hybrid vehicle.
- Identify high voltage cabling and components.
- Identify AC and DC voltage systems, as well as understand the fundamental difference.
- Identify how to set up the work area correctly to comply with national, local and legal requirements.
- Identify the immediate first aid needed in the event of an accident.
- Identity the differences in recovery and rescue processes of a hybrid vehicle.
- Identify and be aware of the effects of the close proximity of magnetic fields on the human body.
